The reporter learned that the feasibility study report for the section from the Pearl River Delta Hub Airport of the Nanning- Shenzhen High Speed Railway to the boundary between Guangxi and Guangdong has recently been approved by the Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission, marking a new stage of construction for the entire line of the Nanning- Shenzhen High Speed Railway. After the completion of the Nannin-Shenzhen high-speed railway, the travel time from Jiangmen to Nanning is expected to be reduced to less than 2 hours.

The section from the Pearl River Delta Hub Airport of the Nanning-Shenzhen High Speed Railway to the boundary between Guangxi and Guangdong provinces, connecting the ongoing Guangxi Nanning Yulin and Yulin Cenxi sections to the west, and connecting the Guangdong Pearl River Delta Hub Airport to Jiangmen and Jiangmen- Shenzhen sections to the east, is an important section of the Nanning- Shenzhen High Speed Railway connecting Guangxi and Guangdong provinces (regions). The estimated total investment for this approval is 28.336 billion yuan, and the total construction period of the project is 4 years.

The Nanning-Shenzhen High Speed Railway starts from Nanning City in Guangxi in the west and ends in Shenzhen in the east. It passes through Yulin and Wuzhou (Cenxi) in Guangxi, Yunfu, Zhaoqing, Foshan, Jiangmen, Zhongshan, Zhuhai, and other cities in Guangdong. The total length of the railway is 648 kilometers, including 304 kilometers in Guangxi and 344 kilometers in Guangdong. The design standard is a dual track high-speed railway with a speed of 350 kilometers per hour. After the completion of the Nanning-Shenzhen high-speed railway, the travel time from Nanning to Shenzhen will be reduced to around 2 hours and 30 minutes. The travel time from Jiangmen to Nanning is expected to be reduced to less than 2 hours.

It is worth mentioning that the Jiangmen to Pearl River Delta Hub Airport section of the Zhuhai -Zhaoqing high-speed railway, which was previously of great concern to citizens in Jiangmen, is an important component of the Nanning- Shenzhen high-speed railway. The Zhuhai- Zhaoqing high-speed railway is the first high-speed railway with a speed of 350 kilometers per hour independently invested, constructed and managed by Guangdong Province. It connects Zhuhai, Jiangmen, Foshan, and Zhaoqing, and the main line is connected to the planned Pearl River Delta hub airport. After the project is completed, it will connect Jiangmen Station with the Pearl River Delta Hub Airport, achieving seamless connection between rail and aviation. The main cities along the Pearl River Delta will achieve 1-hour accessibility, helping Guangdong build a strong transportation province and accelerating the construction of the "12312" travel and transportation circle.
