The reporter learned from the Municipal Overseas Chinese Affairs Bureau that the acceptance of the "Three Overseas Chinese Students" identity confirmation in our city this year has started recently. Candidates who participate in the 2024 college entrance examination in our province must apply for the "Three Overseas Chinese Students" identity confirmation from the overseas Chinese affairs department at or above the prefecture level in the city where the college entrance examination registration is located, or their designated overseas Chinese affairs department, between today and November 10. If the deadline is exceeded, the application will not be accepted.

It is reported that "three overseas Chinese students" refer to those who apply for the entrance examination of ordinary universities and are themselves returned overseas students, or children of returned overseas Chinese, or children of overseas Chinese in China.

For candidates confirmed as "three overseas Chinese students", after being announced by the Office of the Guangdong Provincial Admissions Commission, those who meet the qualification for additional points for the "three overseas Chinese students" in the ordinary college entrance examination shall, in accordance with relevant policies and regulations, add points to the total score of the cultural courses in the college entrance examination and submit them to the higher education institutions for admission.

It is worth noting that, if the registered residence examinee who takes part in the college entrance examination in another province needs to go through the "three overseas Chinese students" identity confirmation in the province, he/she should apply within the application time limit specified by the province, and the municipal overseas Chinese affairs department at or above the prefecture level where the examinee's registered residence is located should be responsible for reviewing and confirming the application.
