The 2023 Overseas Chinese Guangdong- Hong Kong- Macao Greater Bay Area Conference opened on May 17th. On the evening of the 16th, the conference welcomed guests from home and abroad in the form of a Wuyi family banquet. Vice Governor Zhang Xin attended the dinner and delivered a speech. Pang Guomei, Deputy Minister of the United Front Work Department of the Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Provincial Overseas Chinese Office, presided over the dinner.

Zhang Xin warmly welcomed the arrival of the guests and expressed heartfelt gratitude to the overseas Chinese, compatriots from Hong Kong and Macao, and various sectors of society who have long cared for and supported Guangdong's reform and development. Efforts will be made to continue to lead the country in comprehensively deepening reforms and other aspects. We sincerely hope that the vast majority of overseas Chinese will continue to inherit their excellent traditions, fully leverage their advantages, and take this conference as an opportunity to continuously strengthen cooperation and exchange, sharing the opportunities for the development of the Guangdong -Hong Kong -Macao Greater Bay Area. Guangdong will further carry out a series of work such as cultural attraction of overseas Chinese, platform cooperation with overseas Chinese, policy benefits for overseas Chinese, and economic gathering of overseas Chinese, in order to create a better environment for overseas Chinese to invest and engage in business, cooperate and exchange in Guangdong, and provide better quality services.

Mayor Wu Xiaohui attended the dinner and delivered a speech. The dinner was also attended by leaders of relevant national and provincial departments, representatives of the "9+2" cities in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, and representatives of domestic and foreign guests from 90 countries and regions.
