Cui Shaohong, vice chairman of the Municipal Film and Television Association and chairman of the Kaiping Film and Television Association, won the award of "Outstanding Writer" for the screenplay.

The Mysterious Family Letter was co-written by Cui Shaohong, Wang Qin and Liao Dingguo. The film mainly tells that Situ Guangming, an overseas Chinese descendant in various difficulties, found a letter at home by chance, formed a four-person group with people around him, and started the journey of revealing secrets according to the instructions on the letter. In this process, the plot is constantly reversed in the event of cooperation, suspicion, jealousy and almost hostility among the four people, integrating elements such as silver letter, blockhouse, kungfu, food and overseas Chinese culture. As the truth of the mysterious family letter is revealed step by step, the character's character changes accordingly. At last, he is sublimated in action and thought in the family and country feelings of the ancestors of overseas Chinese, reflecting the praises of the big era from a small incision, and reflecting the changes of the times of Jiangmen Overseas Chinese Capital with the fate of small people.

Mysterious Family Letters has distinctive "three local" elements: local cultural elements, local team production, and local shooting. At present, the screenplay has passed the joint examination of the United Front Work Department of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee and the approval of the Guangdong Film Bureau, and is waiting for the project approval and publicity of the National Film Bureau.
