In 2019, the“Outline of the Development Plan for Guangdong- Hong Kong- Macao

Greater Bay Area”and the“Guides of Supporting the Construction of the Demonstration Pilot Zone for Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in Shenzhen by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council”were officially issued. As an important city in the Greater Bay Area, Jiangmen is located in the one- hour- long traffic circle with GuangzhouShenzhen-Hong Kong-Macao. The driving force offered by the Greater Bay Area and the pilot zone in Shenzhen provide significant opportunities to build a new growth pole for Jiangmen itself, a river- to-sea gateway on the coastal economic belt, located on the west bank of the Pearl River. Jiangmen should make full use of the superimposed effects of the driving force and the“linkage of Guangzhou and Shenzhen”, focusing on strengthening the following aspects, including the cooperation in transportation interconnection, industrial collaboration, technological innovation, cultural tourism, modern agriculture, etc.By increasing investment, expanding consumption, raising efficiency and accelerating development,Jiangmen strives to build a strong advanced manufacturing city, a comprehensive transportation junction in the west of the Pearl River Delta, an open highland on the coastal economic belt, a cultural communication and cooperation window for overseas Chinese, and a high- quality city that is livable, industry- friendly and suitable for tourism.
