Duruan Bitter Gourds

Bitter gourd cultivation has a history of over a hundred years in Duruan. The sandy soil here is very suitable for raising bitter gourds and the shape of the gourds is different from that of other regions'. Bitter gourds grown here are big, shaped like papaya, flat on top, and thick-and grainy skinned, and taste slightly bitter yet sweet. When cooked, they are crisp and can be eaten without leaving any residue.
