Muzhou Yellow Sand Clams

Muzhou Town is located 30 kilometers south of Huicheng Town. As it is located at the estuary of the West River, the river water carries large quantities of organic matter, and the seawater tides bring a lot of marine plankton, thus the area is abundant in fish, shrimp, and clams, “the three treasures".

Muzhou's yellow sand clams are famous near and far because here there is little river water pollution and the clams are big and fat. As the sand here is yellow, the shells eroded by the sand also become yellow and glossy. Around the Tomb-sweeping Day, the clams are especially fat, white and tender.
