★Kaiping Diaolou and Villages

KaipingDiaolou is a multi- story tower- style building which integrates defense,

residence and the art of Chinese and western architecture. It is mainly distributed in various villages in Kaiping and is merged into the village where it is located. From the late Ming Dynasty to the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, a large- scale and diverse variety of vernacular buildings were formed. There were more than 3,000 buildings in its heyday period. At present, 1,833 buildings are still in existence. On June 28, 2007, KaipingDiaolou and villages were included in the“World Heritage List”,which was the first world cultural heritage in Guangdong Province.It has successfully created a national 5A level scenic spot and achieved a breakthrough of zero in Jiangmen area.

★Bird Paradise

Located in Tianma Village, Xinhui District, the Bird Paradise is a scenic spot with unique bird ecological scenery. It integrates tourism from the perspectives of ecology,culture, health and leisure. The main body of the Bird Paradise is actually a water banyan tree growing up from the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties. The branches of the tree fall to the ground, plunge into the soil and become a new trunk. With passage of time, the big banyan tree becomes a forest by itself, and there are thousands of birds living in this forest.

★Gulao Water Village

Gulao Water Village, also known as Weidun Water Villages, is located in Gulao Town,Heshan. It has a history of more than 600 years. It is a typical wetland with a unique patternof water villages in the south of the Five Ridges and even in the whole country. The Village also has rich cultures of Wing Chun Boxing, the dragon boat race and the lion dance. The former residence of Liang Zan, the founder of Yongchun School of Martial Art, is in the Village as well. Therefore, as the starting point of Wing Chun, it is the only water village in the country with the characteristics of integration of the martial art and the nature.

★Kaiping Diaolou and Villages

Situated in Tangkou Town of Kaiping, Liyuan Garden is a provincial-level cultural relic protection unit. It is a private garden built in 1936 by Mr. XieWeili, an overseas Chinese who settled in the United States. Covering an area of about 19,600 square meters, the Garden integrates traditional Chinese garden design, western architecture and Jiangnan water village features together. As a joyous union of Chinese and western cultures, the Garden is unique for its architectural art style among Chinese gardens.

★Chuanshan Islands

The Chuanshan Islands Tourist Resort is located on the island in the south of Taishan.With an ideal natural beach, the islands are known as the“Oriental Hawaii”.

★Naqin Peninsula Geological Ocean Park

Situated on the dolphin reserve in the southern bay of Beidou Town, Taishan City, it is an important post on the Maritime Silk Road. With a coastline of over 6,000 meters, the Park is a 4A- level scenic spot boasting exquisite bays and peculiar mountain views and stone forests.
