Enping Pastries

The Enping Pastry has a long history of over 500 years since the Ming Dynasty. It is mainly made from sticky rice flour, stuffed with sweet bean paste, mixed fillings, lotus seed paste and fat pork. The Enping pastry has multiple functions according to Chinese health philosophy, for example, to nourish blood and to warm up the stomach. People often use this cake as offerings for worshipping ancestors on the tomb-sweeping day and sometimes use it as the marriage ceremony cake.
