CreateDate:2022.11.21

Recently, the list of "Guangdong good people" in the second quarter of 2022 was released. Among them, three people from Jiangmen were listed, including Lin Dengfeng (retired), an associate professor of South China Normal University (in the category of helping others), Shen Mingjie (in the category of dedication), a former police trainee from the Criminal Investigation Brigade of Pengjiang Branch of Jiangmen Public Security Bureau, and Huang Liying (in the category of filial piety and loving relatives), a retired worker from the textile factory in Xinhui District, Jiangmen City.

Lin Dengfeng graduated from the Department of Political History of South China Normal University (now South China Normal University) in 1959, majoring in politics for the first time, and stayed in the university as an associate professor. In 1987, Lin Dengfeng actively advocated and led his colleagues to mobilize alumni and social forces from rich regions to donate more than 1 million yuan to build a student activity center of more than 2000 square meters in South China Normal University - Taoli Garden. He devoted himself to the collection of cultural relics (objects) for decades, and finally donated 1705 pieces (sets) of his lifelong "painstaking efforts" to the museum in Kaiping, his hometown, at the end of 2020.

In the afternoon of July 2, 2022, Shen Mingjie, his colleagues and the masses who answered the police, encountered a sudden fall of a rock on the top of a cliff during the rescue of a missing person who fell off a cliff near Nanlu Village, Duruan Town. Shen Mingjie was hit by a stone and seriously injured his head. The rescue efforts of experts at provincial and municipal levels failed, and he died on duty. Shen Mingjie did not fear hardship and bravely shouldered the burden of grass-roots work. In just over two months of training in grass-roots police stations, he handled 126 police cases, investigated the scene of cases 78 times, rescued 35 people in difficulty, and helped capture 23 suspects, which was unanimously praised by his comrades in arms.

Huang Liying is a retired worker of Xinhui District Textile Factory, and her mother-in-law Fan Liuqiong is blind. After her marriage to her husband, Huang Liying has taken care of her mother-in-law's daily life and food for more than 50 years. Although she is 76 years old now, Huang Liying cooks for her mother-in-law and bathes the elderly every day. Under the care of Huang Liying, Grandma Fan, now 105 years old, is still quite sober. She is not seriously ill. She can walk around freely at home without help. Her healthy old age cannot be separated from Huang Liying's more than 50 years of care.
