Opening of theme activities

In order to further implement the "master of Cantonese cuisine" project, carry out cooking skills exchanges, cultural promotion, food material display and other activities relying on characteristic Cuisine, and build an international platform for cultural exchange of Cantonese cuisine, the theme activity of "Guangdong cuisine master connecting five continents" was held in Taishan on December 29, 2020. Cai Weisheng, first level inspector of the United Front Work Department of the provincial Party committee, and Li Weimin, member of the Standing Committee of the Jiangmen municipal Party committee and head of the United Front Work Department, attended the opening ceremony.           

Li Weimin said that in recent years, relying on the "Guangdong cuisine master" project, Jiangmen has made every effort to build a food brand in Wuyi overseas Chinese hometown. Taishan, as the largest county-level city in Jiangmen, on the one hand is close to the mountains and the sea, rich in food materials, on the other hand, it has a large number of overseas Chinese resources, forming a unique catering culture with the characteristics of the hometown of overseas Chinese. It is hoped that by holding this activity, Taishan will further explore the cultural connotation of Wuyi overseas Chinese hometown and tell a good story of Wuyi overseas Chinese hometown, so that the majority of Wuyi overseas Chinese, Hong Kong and Macao compatriots can better understand the development of their hometown. At the same time, overseas Chinese and compatriots from Hong Kong and Macao are welcome to visit and invest in their hometown frequently, and support the development of their hometown as always.           

At the scene, we also broadcast the blessing of local people at home and abroad, the introduction of famous dishes and other related videos; held the awarding ceremony of Guangdong cuisine Master Studio, Jiangmen Cantonese cuisine Master Studio and Guangdong cuisine master rural demonstration base; signed the Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Industry Association Guangdong cuisine master exchange and cooperation agreement, and Taishan technical school culinary teaching department (Guangdong culinary technical school) and Shunde Vocational College The framework agreement of the junior college culinary class jointly organized by the culinary college of the Institute of technology of Guangdong University of technology, and the award was given to winners in the Jun Hai Yue Phoenix cup culinary competition.
